Split Fiction — Nintendo Switch 2

What Is Split Fiction — Nintendo Switch 2?

Split Fiction — Nintendo Switch 2 is a two-player co-op action-adventure from Hazelight Studios. You play as Mio and Zoe, two writers trapped inside a machine that is stealing their ideas. Their escape jumps between Mio’s science-fiction settings and Zoe’s fantasy worlds, turning each chapter into a new mix of platforming, puzzles, combat, timing challenges, and cinematic set pieces.

This Nintendo Switch 2 version includes the complete story and is designed around cooperation rather than solo progression. Each player controls one character, and both must communicate, combine different abilities, and react to mechanics that change from level to level. One sequence may put you on gravity bikes or give you futuristic weapons, while another can involve dragons, magical transformations, or a ride on a sand shark.

Two-Player Co-Op and Friend’s Pass

Split Fiction is built for two players and supports couch co-op, local wireless play through GameShare, and online co-op. With Friend’s Pass, one owner of the full game can invite a partner who has downloaded the free Friend’s Pass, allowing both players to complete the adventure together online. Friend’s Pass requires an internet connection and the relevant platform accounts.

Cross-play lets a Nintendo Switch 2 player team up online with a supported player on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S. An EA Account is required for cross-platform play. Nintendo Switch Online membership and a Nintendo Account are required for Nintendo online features and are sold separately.

Nintendo Switch 2 Features

• GameShare: A Nintendo Switch 2 owner can share the game over a local wireless connection using one copy. The invited player may use another Nintendo Switch 2 or an original Nintendo Switch, subject to GameShare conditions.
• GameChat: Players can use the Nintendo Switch 2 built-in microphone for online communication. Video sharing requires a compatible Nintendo Switch 2 Camera or USB camera.
• Split-screen play: Two players can coordinate on the same system with compatible controllers and accessories.
• Cross-play: Online partners can join from other supported platforms through EA’s in-game friend system.

What Kind of Gameplay Does It Offer?

The campaign constantly introduces new abilities instead of relying on one fixed combat or upgrade loop. Progress comes from mastering each chapter’s co-op mechanic, solving asymmetric puzzles, coordinating movement, and helping your partner through hazards. Optional Side Stories branch away from the main route with self-contained scenarios, extra challenges, and unusual mechanics inspired by Mio and Zoe’s unfinished ideas.

This makes the game a strong fit for players who enjoy shared problem-solving, varied action, and story-driven co-op. It is not an in-game currency, DLC pack, or Friend’s Pass listing; it is the Nintendo Switch 2 full-game product.
