ELDEN RING - Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

What Is ELDEN RING - Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Steam?

ELDEN RING - Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Steam is downloadable content that expands the base game’s dark fantasy world with a new region called the Realm of Shadow. Activated through Steam, this EU version offers new story chapters, areas to explore, enemies, and challenging boss encounters. This product is not a standalone game, and you must own the ELDEN RING base game on your Steam account to play it.

As you follow Miquella’s trail in the expansion, you can investigate secrets connected to Marika’s past and confront Messmer and the other threats of the Realm of Shadow. The base game’s open-ended exploration structure is retained; you can progress through regions by choosing your own route, investigate hidden areas, and establish new quest connections with different characters.

What Content Does the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Offer?

Shadow of the Erdtree adds new options for players who want to improve their existing character build or try a completely different combat style. With new weapons, armor, spells, weapon skills, and Ashes of War, you can expand your melee, ranged, magic, or hybrid build options.

• New region: Explore vast areas, castles, dungeons, and hidden passages throughout the Realm of Shadow.
• New bosses: Battle powerful opponents with different attack patterns and mechanics.
• New equipment: Diversify your build with new weapons, armor, talismans, spells, and combat skills.
• New progression system: Use Scadutree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ashes to increase the power of your character, summoned spirits, and mount within the expansion region.
• New story: Follow Miquella’s journey and discover new details about the history of the ELDEN RING universe.

Requirements for Starting the DLC

Activating the code alone is not enough to access the Realm of Shadow. You must defeat the Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood bosses in the base game. Therefore, players starting with a new character should first make the required progress in the base game. Due to its high difficulty level and powerful enemies, the DLC may require a well-established character build, upgraded equipment, and careful resource management.

The expansion-specific Scadutree Blessing system supports PvE progression by affecting the damage your character deals and receives. Revered Spirit Ash Blessing increases the combat power of summoned spirits and the spectral steed. These systems reward exploration within the Realm of Shadow and provide an additional progression layer to help you prepare for difficult encounters.
