What Is the Age of Empires II: DE - Victors and Vanquished DLC?
Victors and Vanquished is a scenario pack for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition that focuses on historical leaders. The content offers 19 single-player scenarios in which you can experience different eras, armies, and strategic objectives with prominent figures such as Ragnar Lothbrok, Oda Nobunaga, and Charlemagne.
The pack brings together 14 revamped scenarios inspired by popular community-created content and 5 new scenarios made for this DLC. The scenarios have been adapted to the Definitive Edition format with professional voice acting, original music, achievements, rebalanced missions, and gameplay improvements.
What Content Does Victors and Vanquished Offer?
Rather than being a traditional civilization pack, this DLC focuses on standalone scenario experiences featuring various rules and alternative progression paths. In each mission, you may encounter objectives, map conditions, and decision-making mechanics that differ from the standard base-building formula.
- 19 single-player scenarios: Includes extensive missions featuring different historical periods and leaders.
- 14 revamped scenarios: Missions inspired by community-created content have been updated with balancing changes, bug fixes, and quality improvements.
- 5 new scenarios: Offers new historical challenges created specifically for the pack.
- Varied gameplay mechanics: Systems such as migration, raiding, vassal management, heroes, technology unlocking, and faction selection may vary by scenario.
- Presentation enhancements: Professional voice acting, original music, and Steam achievements enhance the scenario experience.
What Kind of Strategic Experience Do the Scenarios Offer?
In the Ragnar Lothbrok scenario, the focus is on recruiting warriors through raids and expanding your power across the Norse lands. The Oda Nobunaga scenario allows you to choose one of six factions, each with distinct military and political characteristics. In scenarios such as Otto the Great, managing relationships with vassals and maintaining political balance become as important as decisions on the battlefield.
The varied mission structures test your ability to build an economy, manage resources, develop technologies, create the right unit composition, and complete special objectives across the map. The pack therefore appeals to players who enjoy scenario-driven and experimental Age of Empires II gameplay alongside standard battles.

Since Victors and Vanquished primarily offers single-player scenarios, customers seeking multiplayer civilizations or the base game are advised to review the product's contents carefully.
Before purchasing, check the activation platform, account region, available product languages, and any regional restrictions. Selecting the wrong platform or region may affect the activation and refund process. Delivery and usage information is provided on the relevant product page.
