At the finale of the event, Santa Monica Studio introduced God of War Laufey. The new game focuses on Kratos' wife and Atreus' mother, Faye. According to the PlayStation Blog, Faye is forced to fight in the afterlife of gods to protect her loved ones after death.

This announcement marks an interesting shift for the God of War series.
