Moon Studios has delayed the 1.0 release of its action RPG No Rest for the Wicked to March 2027. Previously scheduled for October 2026, the full release has been pushed back by roughly five months to allow more time for performance improvements as well as class and combat balancing.

Why Was the Game Delayed?

The studio says the additional development time will not be used solely for bug fixes. The goal is to improve optimization, give each class a more distinct playstyle, and make the systems arriving with version 1.0 feel more cohesive.

No Rest for the Wicked features combat that relies heavily on precise timing, alongside item attributes and character builds that can be significantly affected even by relatively small balance changes. Because of this, the 1.0 label is important not only in terms of the amount of content available, but also for technical stability and the balance of long-term progression.

The game has been available in Steam Early Access since April 2024. During this period, its world structure, multiplayer features, and character progression systems have received major updates. If Moon Studios' current schedule goes according to plan, the Early Access period will have lasted for nearly three years.

Open Beta Planned for December 2026

The most important milestone on the developer's roadmap is an open beta planned for December 2026. The test will allow Moon Studios to gather performance, connectivity, and balance data from a much larger group of players ahead of the 1.0 launch.

The exact scope and starting date of the open beta have not yet been announced.

Players who already own the Early Access version will not need to purchase version 1.0 separately. The game is expected to remain priced at $39.99 during Early Access before increasing to $59.99 with the full release.

The Turkish store price, however, should be checked again closer to launch due to regional pricing policies and possible exchange-rate changes.

The Delay Changes the Game's Competitive Release Window

October 2026 was already set to be a busy period for the gaming industry, particularly because of the heavy year-end release schedule. March 2027 may also feature several major releases.

For Moon Studios, however, the main issue is likely to be less about finding an empty spot in the release calendar and more about maintaining the trust of the Early Access community.

There is currently no official indication that the full release will be delayed again. However, the newly announced date is still given only as "March 2027" rather than a specific day. Until an exact date is announced, March 2027 should therefore be treated as a release window rather than a confirmed launch date.

What Should Players Watch Before Version 1.0?

It is still unclear whether the December beta will mainly serve as a server stress test or whether it will provide access to a significant portion of the version 1.0 content.

Another important question is whether character progression from the beta will carry over to the full release. This could have a major impact on both purchasing decisions and how much time players choose to invest in the beta.

If Moon Studios introduces new classes, expands the item pool, or reveals additional endgame systems, the value and effectiveness of current character builds may also change.

On the technical side, players should pay attention to more than just average frame rates. Stuttering during combat, performance during transitions between areas, and multiplayer connection stability will all be important indicators.

If the system requirements are updated, players should not automatically assume that PCs delivering acceptable performance during Early Access will provide the same experience in version 1.0.
